Five years ago, one of the best traditions at CELUS was born: the annual company offsite. It’s a unique opportunity for the entire team to embark on a journey together and make unforgettable memories. This year’s destination? The stunning city of Barcelona!
Recently, the much-anticipated adventure finally kicked off as our teams from Munich, Porto, and Texas made their way to our shared destination: Spain. Spirits were high, and everyone was buzzing with excitement about what the next four days would hold.
Upon arriving in sunny Barcelona, the weather called for a refreshing dip in the hotel pool. Shortly after, we gathered for a welcome session led by our CEO, Tobias Pohl. He took a moment to celebrate the growth of our team and reflected on the incredible work we’ve accomplished together. Tobias also introduced the three main goals for this Offsite:
Exchange and Connect, Learn Something New, and of course, Have Fun!
And Barcelona delivered on all fronts! We had an incredible agenda packed with a perfect balance of insightful workshops and fun activities. One of the highlights was a workshop on effective communication and dealing with "cultural communication clashes". Our Product Team also hosted an innovative session, where we pitched the craziest ideas to win over a panel of “Sharks.” Imagine trying to sell mermaid shoes or a camera that takes care of your goldfish—why not, right?
Of course, it wasn’t all work! On day three, we embarked on a city tour, marveling at iconic landmarks like the Sagrada Família and Park Güell while soaking up the rich history of this vibrant city. The culinary experience was equally unforgettable. From Paella and Croquettes to Pan Con Tomate, we indulged in local delicacies that catered to everyone’s taste.
In the end, this Offsite was an experience we’ll never forget and one thing was clear: We had grown not just as individuals, but as a team. Spending time together with colleagues from all around the globe gave us the chance to connect, laugh and understand each other better.
Saying goodbye to Barcelona was hard, but we left with a sense of community. CELUS is more than just a workplace – it’s a team that’s ready to take on new challenges, strengthened by the memories we created here. The next Offsite can’t come soon enough!
